Power Under Control
THE TEMPERATE LEADER EDITION

One Thought to Challenge You

From my personal Journal this week: You can’t lose your temper if you’ve already given it away.
And the way you give it away, is through temperance: the quiet strength that chooses restraint before reaction. Temperance isn’t weakness, it’s strength under authority.
It’s the quiet discipline that turns your emotions into instruments of impact instead of reactions of impulse.

One Insight from Experience

Lately, I’ve noticed how easily pace, pressure, and pride can hijack my peace.
When I move too fast, I stop hearing the whisper of wisdom.
But when I slow down, when I pause before I post, pray before I decide, reflect before I react, something powerful happens.
Temperance anchors influence.
It’s what separates charisma from character, and speed from sustainability.
Every great leader I know carries a kind of calm, not because life is easy, but because they’ve mastered the art of restraint.
They lead from strength within, not noise around them.
That’s what the Greek enkrateia means, “inner mastery.”
When we intentionally slow down and align our emotions, our decisions, and our pace with Purpose, our influence deepens and our integrity strengthens.

One Question to Ponder

What big decisions are you faced with now and how do you approach them with Temperance?
